our story

Josephine Starr is a three-piece rock and roll band blending modern grunge, punk energy, and alternative hooks.

Started in early 2025 by singer/guitarist/bassist Zea with guitarist/vocalist Jessi and drummer Kyle, the band began recording demos at home before developing their bold, high energy live sound.

The band has since released an impressive stream of strong singles that have received local radio play and showcase a propensity for dual vocals, harmonic texture, and a fierce twin guitar attack. Their live shows have already earned them a reputation as a band to check out if you are interested in San Diego's rock and roll scene.

Likes to write songs that are mostly about Jessi, because she’s so in love with her she just can’t help it. Has too many Kurt Cobain’s Signature guitars

Enjoys running and hiking. Very proficient at guitar solos. Has a very unique songwriting style!

Drums

A very skillful woodworker. Refinished one of Jessi’s guitars. Loves all things drums, hiking, and golfing.
